Privacy Notice

Applicability

This privacy notice applies only to the Cloud Storage service and explains our practices concerning the collection, use, and disclosure of visitor information. Visitor information collected by Cloud Storage will be used only as outlined in this privacy notice.

Other units at the university may collect and use visitor information in different ways. Therefore, visitors to other university web sites should review the privacy notices for the particular sites they visit. Cloud Storage is not responsible for the content of other web sites or for the privacy practices of web sites outside the scope of this notice.

Because Internet technologies continue to evolve rapidly, Cloud Storage may make appropriate changes to this notice in the future. Any such changes will be consistent with our commitment to respecting visitor privacy, and will be clearly posted in a revised privacy notice.

Collection and Use

Active/Manual/Voluntary Collection

When establishing your storage preferences you can authorize integration with one or more cloud-based storage services. This authorization grants Cloud Storage the ability to interact with your files through virtual file systems ("drives") in streaming applications, virtual desktops, and/or other workstations where this service's accompanying Client software is installed strictly for the purpose of allowing you to view, edit, and managing your own files in these computing environments. Your authorization grants the operators of Cloud Storage a time-limited, revokable token that can be used to access your files through the storage service's public HTTP API. This revokable access token is securely stored by Cloud Storage and is the only method by which Cloud Storage can access your files. You can revoke this access token at any time by deauthorizing the storage preference, at which time the access token will be disabled with the storage service and removed from the Cloud Storage database. The operators and administrators of Cloud Storage will never see the content of your files, nor see nor store the credentials with which you authenticate with your chosen storage services.

With your sole authorization Cloud Storage can interact with your files in the manner described below. The specific storage service integrations offered by your institution are selected and managed by your institution and as such all of the following options may not be available to you.
